dug does this thing where he hears me (from where ever he is in the house) open my bedroom door in the morning and make the short walk to the bathroom (by "short walk" i mean 3 steps). with either a bone or a toy in his mouth he slowly climbs the stairs and peers past the railing to watch me open the bathroom door and walk three steps to my right. if i acknowledge him, he will gallop towards me and bask in whatever attention i give to him.
he did this just now, for the first time since i've gotten back.
